How to do: LifeLike F40PH with flywheels...
...easy steps to modify a LL F40PH with a motor from a LL E7/8
with big flywheels - the F40PH with the new motor runs smooth
like an engine with a split-frame...

the flywheel-less original crapy drive from a LL F40PH

remove the trucks, and the motor

drill holes and cut a square hole out on each side of the motor
mounting for the flywheels

view from the side and from the bottom, here you can see why we
have to drill the two holes on each side, w/o the holes the motor
will not turn because the flywheels touch the frame.

with a stripe of styrene we make a support for the rear weight,
we have to cut the weights and it will not hold w/o this mounting plate

we place the trucks back to the frame

I glue the wires on the frame so they cant touch the flywheels
with a tape I isolate the motor and I solder a brass wire on each
side to the motor and solder the two wires from the trucks to that
brass wire, take care that everything is well flatt otherwise the
shell will not fit on the frame...

everything ready soldered, now we can made a first test to check
the motor and the wires, place the engine on a testtrack...

now we cut the silicon tubes and place them back from the flywheels
to the drives - now we place the drive again on the testrack and
if everything is ok, the drive will run...

on this picture you can see how we have to cut the weights
warning: the weights are made with lead, please wash your hands
with soap after you touched the weights

thats the drive ready with the weights in place.

drive w/o weights on the testrack

drive ready to place the shell on - ready ? not now, soon I show you
here how we make working noselights, ditchlights and light on the
rear side of the engine... stay tuned !
